At Udd Chale Trust, we are dedicated to creating a future where every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to rise, learn, and lead. Our mission is to provide underprivileged children with access to quality education, healthcare, and life skills, ensuring that no child is held back due to financial or social constraints.
With 472 million children, they constitute 40% of India’s population. Yet, their share in national investment remains disproportionately low. In the 2021-22 Union Budget, only 2.46% was allocated to child welfare, despite the National Plan of Action for Children recommending a budget of 5% of GDP. Alarmingly, for the past two years, this allocation has stagnated at just 0.43% of GDP.
